Family Promise of Greater Cleveland
The agency helps over 100 homeless families each year secure independent housing and the means to sustain it. Families of any composition reside free of charge in Family Promise facilities while benefiting from work with dedicated case managers who assist parents in finding housing and employment; securing financial support; linking to needed medical, mental health, and legal services; and engaging in important activities to ensure the well-being of their children. Case management services continue for at least four months after families leave shelter to help prevent returns to homelessness. The agency keeps families together through the trauma of homelessness and beyond as they strive to achieve long-term stability.

North Point Transitional Housing Center
North Point Transitional Housing is designed to serve the needs of homeless men who have average shelter stays of nine months but who are able-bodied and ready and willing to achieve gainful employment which will lead to the achievement of permanent housing. The program is based on the belief that the problem of homelessness is a combination of lack of affordable housing and poverty. The services provided at this program are targeted to address those issues. Program participants are from Cuyahoga County’s Lakeside Emergency Shelter. The target population is those unaccompanied men who are able and willing to become gainfully employed and who want to achieve permanent housing.

St. Herman House - FOCUS Cleveland
St. Herman House’s mission is to shelter and support homeless men on the path to well-being and independence and meet the basic needs of people in our community. We have an emergency shelter for 28 men and a transitional home that accommodates 12 men. In addition, we serve three meals a day, seven days a week, every day of the year to anyone in need.

Youth shelter provides shelter care for youth, ages 12-17, who are without a home or a stable living environment. Residents may be runaway youth or children placed by the Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Semi-independent living serves youth, ages 16-21, who will be exiting the foster care system. Its emphasis is preparation for living independently. Life skills—budgeting, cleaning, cooking, relationship building, conflict management—are at the heart of the program.

Bellefaire JCB
Bellefaire JCB’s Homeless and Missing Youth Program was initiated in October 2006 through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to establish a program for homeless, missing, and runaway youth who are in need of crisis intervention, possible respite and case management. A National Safe Place partner, our program serves approximately 4,000 teens, families and community members in Cuyahoga County yearly through street outreach, respite care, community outreach and education, and a 24-hour hotline.

Men’s Shelter at 2100 Lakeside
Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry’s Men’s Shelter at 2100 Lakeside is the largest shelter in the state of Ohio, serving up to 350 men per night with an additional 30-60 beds available at partner overflow sites. Referrals come from the Cuyahoga County Coordinated Intake and Assessment process. At the shelter, LMM staff and social service partners provide on and off-site services to increase resident self-sufficiency. We work with individuals to end their homelessness by finding appropriate housing as soon as possible. The shelter has six communities to meet the specific needs of those men in crisis. There is also a Work Experience Program to help residents obtain job training and get back on their feet. There are three community gardens, a Neighborhood Partnership Program, and more.

Cleveland Water
The Homestead Discount Program offers a lower fixed charge and consumption rate. To qualify for the Homestead Discount Program, customers must meet the following criteria: must be 65 years or older, or totally and permanently disabled; must own and live at the property; and must have income less than $34,500. The Water Affordability Program offers a 40% discount on all standard water charges. This includes both the monthly fixed charge and the consumption charge. To qualify for the program, a customer must own and live at the applying service address and have a total household income at or below the current income guidelines.

Veterans Service Commission – Cuyahoga County
The mission of the Veterans Service Commission is to continue to provide direct and indirect financial assistance and other benefits to veterans and their dependents who have met with an unexpected hardship resulting from illness, injury, or loss of employment, and meet eligibility requirements. The Commission has established outreach programs with other county, state and federal agencies to assist veterans and their dependents with employment and training for employment, so they have all of the tools needed to re-enter the workforce and not be dependent on this Commission for assistance. This Commission also assists in initiating claims for benefits, obtaining documents to substantiate proof for these benefits, provides free graves and funerals for honorably discharged indigent veterans, and procures grave markers for veterans.
